If you are concerned about crime in Nicaragua, I would urge you to take this test. It's an informal assessment of how much of a target you are. It's meant for North America but I think it would apply anywhere in the world.

There's a "Are you going to be raped, robbed, stabbed, shot, or beaten?" Test

I scored a -15. "(Negative score) A minus score indicates that the criminal would be in danger FROM YOU. The greater the negative score...the greater the danger."

Then there's a "Is someone going to break in and burglarize your home?" Test

Our Hicksville doublewide scored a 53 "(51 to 75) This score shows a moderate risk of burglary." It would be lower except they asked if our phone lines attached to the house within reach of the ground, and we don't use a landline phone at all (burglars can cut your phone line). Also, we had one repairman in the house in the last year, but we know and trust him.

I scored a -4 on the "Are you going to be murdered?" Test.
