Default Managua: Carnaval 2010 (w/ my new camera)

Ok I was trying out my new/old sony camera that a relative sent me. The camera was a bit dated and it was a bit slow compared to my Canon, but I got a few alright shots, much better than my Cell phone camera.

I wanted to take a few more good shots, but my son was on my shoulders and I only had one hand to take the pictures with, the Zoom was a bit of a pain to use like this.

I will post a few pictures now, and a few more later on this week, I am going to look at some property tomorrow in an up and coming area on the outskirts of Granada.

I will admit some of it seemed strange to me, for instance there was a group with Crosses and panties and bras hanging from them. Many of the groups had more male dancers than female dancers, and the funny thing was that they danced better than the girls. My wife brought to my attention that the girls had a real hard jerky motion when they moved their bodies, while the guys had it down smooth . and even sillier was that there were more men in the audience whistling and cat calling at the male dancers than the female dancers! Nicaragua really is changing.

So I was playing around with this new camera, and some of the first shots were real crumby, but interesting in some ways.

    Slow Camera!

This was weird, I must have been slipped something because in person the girl looked halfway decent, the photograph says otherwise.

I am not a big fan of the beer floats, they really destroy the cultural aspect of the parade.

The Alcaldia advertising the new school they are going to build in La Chureca, with a float that could have paid for a few extra classrooms.

Ron Plata was not officially advertising here, but there were a lot of comments in the crowd about Ron Plata when these kids drove up and the driver was taking swigs from a big Ron Plata bottle in front of the police officers lining the streets. Good wholesome family entertainment.

Front flash is very unforgiving.. Typically casting shadows under the eyes and exaggerating the wrinkles...

But fine job Sir 3f Click away as there is some fine stuff here..

BTW Bare footin' aint nothing for a Costena.... It is like pulling teeth to MAKE my children wear shoes or flip flops..
To be called a "Has Been" I must surmise, is much Greater than to be called a "Nevah Been"... JW...

People kept getting in front of me when the banners of the groups were presented and I could not read whom each float was from or group names. I think there was over 100 groups that presented.
