Jonh I need your help. Jason is now denying he ever said Costa Rica would not let me back in the country, and the U.S. would lock me up. I am sure you remember it- it was about two months ago just before he went missing. It was the second to last post before he stopped posting. I guess that would put it in mid-May. Can you find the post and tell me how to get it on the site? Thanks Howard

    Hi Jonh,
I´m trying to track readers hits on my blogs. When the blog gets re-posted on the homepage it appears that no hit count is recorded on the blog link. How can I tell how many times the file was opened?

Also, it appears that comments to the blog which were re-posted on the homepage are not actually kept with the blog entry.

    What is actually taking place?

    Aisabe,

    Hi Jonh,
I want to post a thread asking readers for advice on what vehicle might work for me to carry up to six guests in the rainy season across about 25 km of unimproved back roads, swamps, creek crossings, mud, etc. here in lowland country of Prinzapolka. I´m thinking balloon tires and very light construction. A german Unimog would be outstanding except that the price is too!

    Where should I post this?

    Jonh,
The thread about the wonderful italian visitors has a server error.
I have no idea about what to do.
    Thanks,
    Mark

john, do you have a higher resolution logo that you can send? If I have time, I'll get some stickers printed and plaster them across Europe this summer! Email to: marlies@bigcornisland.com

Admin2 made the decision to remove it, and I stand by his decision. It was just a silly thread anyway. No, it wasn't the real Fyl on TRN, and as far as I know Fyl still owns NL, so no one can yank him from it.

John - I assume you're an active administrator of TRN. I see that the fyl thread "nicaliving.com closed" was pulled. Why? With so much of a history of common banter, TRN & NL appear interwoven to me.

Do you know if fyl has been similarly yanked out of NL?

    Just curious, Daddy-yo

Rocky (not the raccoon kind, and not the Sylvester Stallone kind)

by Jonh on 06-28-2010 at 05:44 PM
I had to send some drawings to Hicksville via DHL today. DHL is the only such service in town, as far as I can tell. My wife wanted to combine the short trip there with another bread run to Gutierrez (awesome picos) and, of course, another sacking of an ATM (derivation: "sacar dinero" as in "take out money). Her aunt's friend has a "jeep" (Nicaraguan for "SUV." Officially - it says so on the registration card) that my wife said we were allowed to borrow, but

I walked to Pali today

My wife had some lunch meat brought up from Managua by a cousin who lives close to that Bavarian Deli place. However, even after going out shopping twice with her cousin after she got here, she still failed to procure sandwich bread, mustard, or cheese.

As lunch time came and went, and the farthest the "What are we eating for lunch" conversation went was that my daughter wasn't hungry and my wife was just going to eat leftovers. I didn't want the lunch meat to go bad (it

About town

Today's mission was to go take out some money from the ATM so we could pay the workers who have finished the septic tank rebuild. My wife requested I pick up some ron con pasa ice cream at the Eskimo shop while I'm out. And since our daughter was bored I invited her and the dog along.

It's five blocks to the Bank Corner. On the last block before the corner, something in a shop caught my eye. I'd dropped my pocket knife while riding a horse out on the farm, and there were two knives

Who's up for a treasure hunt?

From W. E. Johns' Biggles Flies West

'Now then! Here we are, ' murmured Biggles, drawing a rough oval on the map with a lead pencil. 'Here is Providence, the island Dick's father and Deutch saw when they were in the open boat, but on which they could not effect a landing. Instead, they drifted away to the south-west, like this' - Biggles followed a south-westerly course with his pencil - 'and here we come to a whole lot of little islands. As you can see, most of them are such mere specks
