You tube mine guy gets a request to look at an abandoned mine in Utah - Price $40M

Him buyin g the $1M mine seems somewhat feasible upon reflection in how he is geting volenteer (slave ) labour to help, has a faie youtube following and is starting to see some revenue with day tours apparent.

What business model you would need for a $40M mine, other than producing gold itself, I can not imagine..

    Today's is an audio piece.

Stuart McLean was (and still is) the quintensicial Canadian bard - Starting his career in middle 70's as a feature presenter for growly voiced, hard drinking, 3 pack a day smoking, loved by all, national morning radio show icon Peter Gzowski on Morningside.

By the Middle 90's Stuart had his own radio show called the Vinyl Cafe. It had a almost religious following. The Vinyl Cafe followed the factious couple of Dave and Morley who ran a record shop in Toronto. Not stories of the store, although the story factors into story line for sure, but stories of people and interactions between people. The show was recorded live from venues across the country - From down town Toronto to Fut Buck New Found Land.

He also did yearly Christmas shows , to which I managed to see the last of the series in 2014 - Stuart succumbed to Melanoma in 2015.

The actual story that triggered this post "The tree of Heaven" is not on youtube, but it can be found on spotify says google - it is a good listen as well. It is a reflection of life manifest in how Dave nurtures a seedling found by humorous happenstance.

"Dave Cooks the Turkey" is one of the most popular stories of the series and is a yearly staple.

Shoestring Hobo is now in Alaska - Apparently a bunch of his Facebook group managed to get a ticket together for him.

The man really knows his stuff e.g 1) Composition of Alaska coal 2) Which trains go where, when, and more so why - 3) Geography of the area and on and on.

RVerTV is a rather folksy hokey fellow who drives around the US in his modified van..

A lot of "Will you look at that" and a semi annoying laugh - But he does a good cross section of the southwest and using his videos, and others, to load the visit list for one of our road trips.

Back in '08, when we bought the Expedition, a 7.3 excursion was on the short list a we toyed with towing our travel trailer.

They were massive and a real work horse..

I watched this fellows series on rebuilding a 1990 Yota pickup Previous owner did a 3.4 six swap and botched it real bad - This fellow brought her up to snuff with some real nice additions.

I started watch foul mouth, coffee swigging trapper kid again after he spent the winter retrieving frozen dead furry animals and skinning them - Got nothing against that, just not a youtube video I needed to watch.

In this one he gets his 2KW inverter set up on his 6V batteries - He must have upgraded them as he was ckinning beaver over the winter..

Andrew gets some new to him skid steers.

We need one for our house drive way and for the land on the island up north to actually make a driveway - My Dad picked up a Deere version for his greenhouse last year and it is plausible to haul it to our place only 40 min away, but up north is 7 hours - may have to rent one closer.

It is unique times indeed ..

I got an update email from our RRSP (Like 401K) provider to review our holdings yesterday.

Opening it up the total was just unbelievable. Our holdings grew by a staggering amount in the past 14 months. Just about to the point that we will call our provider and roll our last 18 months of gains into money market.. Just unsustainable growth.

    Future problems eh! ...

damn,, I had two of those during my baja days. inline 6 with huge torque. one blue like the pic, one white.

NOT great on gas but mex gas was pretty cheap way back then. I pulled the head once on a baja beach, hauled it back to the US, had it rebuilt , bought a gasket kit, and returned to the beach and reinstalled it.

just thinking about those days wears me out.
I'll need a nap after this post.

as I remember, they were prone to burnt valves and the springs got weak and had to be replaced too. this was about 100k miles.

we beat that thing like a dead horse. I routinely pulled a 16ft flatbed loaded with construction materials over endless washboard roads.

I like this guy's demenure... How many financial advisors would tell you "Squeezing out a kid every 7 years" is to your financial benefit.

Sent it to my BIL's in Nicaragua on how to apply (Daniel turned 60) and how the be sure they are getting (Edward turned 70) the returns they acquired for their years of work up here.

Even one thing I found out that I misunderstood - I had n my mind that OAS was only $400 but was happy to find it is $600 / month. Chilo will be 37 years in Canada at 65 so she will be a bit under 600 and change maximum, what ever that is 5 yrs from now.

I hope Daniel does not jump at the 35% pay cut by taking it at 60, but he is always after the fast cash so I fear he might.

So there is this Guy Shawn who is the leading Grizly adams cabin in the wilderness dude on "the tube" - Some of his older stuff is in the list here.

Well his old land was on a road allowance. A road allowance means that someone can (at their expense) open a road along that tract. Just like our small place on the island.

So when that allowance was opened Shawn left plot #1 to work on plot #2 - And this is his #2 house on plot #2

YouTube's Algorithm is just pissing me off - But I take it as a personal challenge to make it loopy.

This one I found by just typing "Capitol" and scrolling down quickly something like 5 pages...

I never knew.. Will put on my travel list..

OMG! I literally did this as a kid.....I found some building material in our yard and got a concrete block and placed a long board across it. Figured that I would make a catapult.
Then I put a brick on one end and jumped on the other.
The effing brick hit me square between the eyes.
My bible class had taught me how David slew Goliath and I assumed that I had killed myself and it was only a matter of time until I dropped.
I ran screaming into my house bawling to my mother......as usual, she inspected the damage and said ..."You'll live"
    Life's different here ... It's a whole 'nother pace.
