Not having Trump to kick around has made for some strange late night bedfellows.

    Somehow,, having Biden ask
"Is it time for my chocolate ice cream and my nap" doesn't get the same laughs they got from Trump.

A long way to go for a fly in hamburger.

Trujillo, Honduras used to have an airport (runway would be a more accurate description) that was bisected by the road out of town.

You stopped at the edge of the runway, looked both ways,, and then drove across.

I haven't been there for years,, a casualty of settling down.

Man, that was one of my top 3 favorite shows of all time. Somewhere, some how, I heard that they went back through all the old episodes and dubbed out the real music played, so anything that you buy or see on re-runs has generic music. Something to do with rights and royalties and such. Which kind of kills the mood for me really. I remember hearing Linda Ronstadt, ELO, Blondie, and others on the original series. Good and better times for sure.

Oh, and I still can't stand Pink Floyd, uuugghhhh...

Went to University of Cincinnati and lived there for about 10 years about the same time as this incredible series was on...."As God as my witness....I thought turkeys could fly".

Just like todays Cartoon and KWP reply - Racisms

Canada is struggling with it big time now - 250 unmarked graves were found in Kamloops BC earlier this month - 750 in Saskatchewan just this week - A grand father and his 12 yr old grand daughter were cuffed and put in back of a cruiser for fraud after the younger tried to open her first bank account.

It is complicated and I have seen it applied to Chilo regularly as well.

The Canadian response will be quiet reflection, a struggle to understand, and hopefully a way to make it better, but it takes time.

This fellow sums it up nicely

    It's a very complicated question.

Is racism inherent, baked in,, or is it driven by experiences ?

If you live in Boise, or in a gated community in California,, you don't bother to lock your house or car. At least you didn't used to.
If you live in other areas you are much more cautious about your person and possessions, and much more aware of your surroundings.

You avoid going in many areas at night. Why? Is that racist or simply common sense.

I worry little about things in the back of my truck in Condega and even Estelí, but cover and tie stuff down when I leave PriceSmart and run the gauntlet of window washers and other self employed business people.

Is that racist? Condega, Estelí, and Managua are equally brown.
I have a friend in Condega, one of the wealthiest men in Condega, very dark skinned with some negroid features.
I don't think of him as black, or african, I think of him as Santiago.
He cooked a dish for us two weekends ago,, El Indio Viejo. Racist, maybe but it tasted awfully good. Santiago enjoys cooking.

I personally have never had a problem with "brown people", I enjoy my travel in Mexico and CA, and have had very few problems.
But, really, these are simply darker skinned Caucasians . It's my tribe, with a better tan. It's a culture very similar to mine.

Until the 13% in the US cease to be responsible for over 70% of the crime in the US, my game plan is to avoid them to the extent I possibly can.
It's not a question of skin color, it's a culture. It's a violent culture. Their heroes are wife beaters, felons, nasty people.

Look to Africa,, it's no different there.

The main systemic violence in the USA is black on white violence. The rest of "systemic violence" is neurotic ponderings of a weak and dying nation.

The HUGE difference with Nica Dark skin natives and the USA dark skin folks is that, the USA dark skin folks(the VAST majority)they litteraly live or think they are STILL in the SLAVERY period, they think they are entitled to everything because of that.
Mark my words, the USA will be controlled by black folks in the next 50-100 years.
it has gotten down right STUPID, NOW EVERYTHING needs to be black, inclusiveness has reached an ALL time high, to the point that hollywood now has created God as a black person in a movie and a TV series, I told my wife to get ready to see a black Jesus very soon.
it has gotten bad in the gay, lesbian and trans agenda as well, now movies seems they MUST have a gay-lesbian or trans individual in them.
call me old fashion or WETF you want but.... I a disagree with all that B.S
This is one of the main reasons I can't wait to GTFO of here lol
    End of Rant!!!

The States has gone a little over the top, as Felix mentioned, everything must cater to minorities now.

Lot of people seeking to leave USA, as things have gotten so crazy, guess they can go to Nica and really see CRAZY. Is a funny World we live in.

when was the last time YOU saw a mass shooting in Nicaragua? yeah I know it pails in population comparison but....
also, I don't really see much crazyness in Nicaragua even right at this moment, unless you are into political B.s,or if you are up on a DESERTED island(sorry Kevin, couldn't resist) than you will have issues, on Kevin's end, it's supply issues.
Now, go ask the folks, expats and natives up in the Northern mountains if they are having crazy ass times?
I hate to say it,but.... I feel a HELL of a lot safer in Nicaragua than here in the U.S.A,I WOULD NEVER run out of rice, beans, tortillas, fish, chicken and even pork.

The problem in NICA is when they get hungry and want what you got, and hunger is coming, in more ways than 1.
