Fat lady finally sang at 10PM.

No talk of this Honduran border closing at 6PM, so that might have been more BS.

    We were home at 11:30

With all of the concern for clean surfaces everything is "tap" these days - I do not enable "tap" on our bank card as fraud = "tap - poof" (i.e. money is gone)

Up here credit card fraud is limited to $50 and rarely passed back to the customer, so I have been using the air miles Credit card for the past 13 monthe for _everything_ So if Aero Mex or United comes back we will be knee deep in points to use that's for sure.

After easter, according to my logic there will be no reason for flights to mga until xmas. Ouch!

My wife doesn't plan on a minivacation to CR. Visa, bus ride, insurance, covid test to return takes the fun out of it. So if the border really opens I may bus to liberia or san jose, leisurely get my cheap covid test, and get a convenient flight to Vegas. I hope there is no meltdown between 6 may and mid-may when I plan to fly.

Hitch with cr return is hauling around 2 suitcases full of crapola.

After seeing the riots in miami on the news I expect a repeat of the xmas massacre with a big covid spike in mid-april. Maybe in CR and Nic, too. not as bad as Jan because of the warm weather, but enough to keep sane people hunkered down.

After samana santa, it remains to be seen how much real demand there is to go to Nic. sufficient to keep a lot of flights. According to one source, Avianca got permission from the bankruptcy court to continue the SAL flights in April. They are milking it pricewise but could crash and burn if a big carrier comes in with regular prices. AA quotes a lower price to vegas than Avianca does to Miami, too bad they don't fly.

Last week we were in the country. The had a religious procession, about 50 people with a substantial police escort to protect them from the drunk drivers. My wife went to the mass in the little church with a friend. The friend later suggested we leave early before it gets nasty. Sure enough, as we were leaving we could see the cock fight had more people than the procession. Some nasty looking types, the drinking must have started early.

We both commented about how 10 days later there will be a corona virus spike.

    Are people actually dying ?

It's one thing to get the virus, one thing to get the flu,, quite another to die from it.

The ones that do aren't talking about it.
